Rosalind Darke, 1987- age 37 in 2024, came to Whisper Hollow with only a prayer and a dream of opening her own chocolate shop.

The Chocolate Shop

The chocolate shop owned by Rosalind Darke was previously a wine cellar and cheese store. Vacant for several years, as soon as Rosalind saw the building, she knew it was the perfect choice for her new shop. Little did she know, the building was a chocolate shop once before, owned by a Hungarian woman.

Essence Hatfield

Ms. Essence Hatfield, The Hungarian Chocolatier, whose birth name is Erzsébet Hatfaludi, in 1899. Trained in her aunt's apothecary and sweetshop, a place known for its herbal liqueurs, spiced syrups, and "remedies" wrapped in sweetness.

"Shadow's Kiss" Truffles

Some chocolates are laced with herbs once used to calm grief or induce dreaming, others, it’s whispered, were “only for the broken-hearted.” 

Her most famous piece was called Árnyékcsók,  “Shadow’s Kiss”, said to bring back a memory you’ve buried. rosalind found this secret recipe hidden away for decades.
