The perfect introduction to cozy mysteries—with a ghostly twist!
I picked up A Ghost’s Calling because I love anything paranormal and I’m a huge fan of mysteries—but this was actually my very first cozy mystery. And I have to say, it won’t be my last! This book was such a great introduction to the genre. It had all the things I love: a compelling mystery, a touch of the supernatural, and just enough small-town charm to make you want to move into Whisper Hollow yourself. The pacing was spot-on, the characters were fun and easy to root for, and the ghostly elements gave the story a unique twist without being too dark or scary. If you’re like me—new to cozy mysteries but curious—this is the perfect place to start. A Ghost’s Calling strikes a great balance between spooky and lighthearted, and it kept me turning the pages well into the night. I’ll definitely be continuing the series!

A Ghost's Calling the Whisper Hollow series is an addictive, fast paced, intense mystery...anyone who loves thrillers or engaging mysteries will be captivated by A Ghost's Calling...filled with a highly creative plot, lovable characters and a resilient female protagonist; the smart, kind and steadfast Olivia, the reader is instantly pulled in and held captive til it's shocking and hopefully... to be continued ending! Loved it and highly recommend!

When Olivia has career problems, she returns to her hometown along the New England coast. She attempts to set right the circumstances of the century-old death of a young woman from a prominent family. The implications of this death still haunt the town. Perhaps expected for the genre, stormy and foggy weather insinuates itself into the narrative when drama is about to happen. However, I was surprised and impressed by the new interactive images of characters and illustrations of landmarks like "Bea's Book Haven" and "The Daily Grind" coffee house. Through the true grit of Olivia, the story proceeds from one lead to another, with Olivia risking her life in scary excursions to long dead crime scenes which suddenly come alive. The writing has great turns of phrases and even irony. The description was exceptional, such as "velvet dust" on the deceased's long untouched bed in the old Inn. I was hoping for an extra "aha" moment near the end, but a sequel would totally satisfy me. This detective-style story kept me fascinated.
