Eleanor Grey, victim in 1901
(1869-1901, age 32 at her demise) only daughter of Captain William Grey and Sarah who died after childbirth, leaving Cpt. Grey to raise his daughter alone. She walks the cove at night holding a lantern, safely guiding ships to shore, away from the treacherous, hidden rocks.

(1876-1976, ripe old age of 100!) Vivian Hawthorne’s father, acquired the Mariner’s Inn in 1902 at age26. Benjamin is best friends with Harrison Grey while both were in their late teens. His only daughter, Vivian Hawthorne, never marries and is currently owns the Mariner's Inn.

(1874-1956, age 82) brother of Elenor Grey, after Eleanor's accident, he is the sole inheritor of the Grey fortune. He is a gambler and irresponsible. His only son, Oliver, becomes a recluse and lives in the Grey mansion until his death in 2023. Harrison is best friends with Benjamin Hawthorne (who owned the Mariner’s Inn in 1901) while both were in their late teens.

(1951- current, age 72 in 2023. Enzo is Dan’s Moretti’s father- The Iron Oven Pizzeria is a family-owned business. Enzo brought his families authentic recipes straight from Italy to Whisper Hollow. His mouth-watering pizzas offer comfort in every slice! You will often hear him singing Italian love ballads while making the days dough.

Owner of The Daily Grind Coffeehouse
Margot Devereaux
Margot appeared in Whisper Hollow ten years ago, seemingly out of nowhere. She bought The Daily Grind Coffeehouse with cash, no mortgage, and no verifiable past. Despite never advertising, her coffeehouse is a town staple, a place where secrets are exchanged under the guise of casual conversation. Some say she’s an heiress on the run, others whisper that she knows too much about Whisper Hollow’s past. Her strange ring is a Black Sapphire (La Saphir Noir) and is extremely rare.

Sam Whitaker
(1867-1946, age 79) From New York City, he reported on Eleanor’s accident/murder in 1901. Sheriff Sampson tried to reopen Eleanor's case in 1935, but was quickly shut down. He retired early at age 55 in 1915 and moved to a small cabin on the edge of Sea Glass Cove. Today it is rumored his cabin is haunted.

Sheriff Ernest Sampson
(1860-1943, age 83) covered the death of Capt. Grey in 1901 and the curious circumstances surrounding the sinking of the Royal Oak in 1896. Dies at 75. He was deeply involved in Eleanor Grey’s case and he tried to reopen the case in 1935 when he retired, but the town council blocked him.

Sheriff Grayson "Gray" Holt
(1981-current, age 42 in 2023) He left Whisper Hollow for a decade, only to return unexpectedly. Primary Sheriff, handling the day-to-day law enforcement in Whisper Hollow. His great grandpa and worked under Sheriff Sampson during the 1901 case. The council will not "waste" money on cold cases, so Gray really appreciates Olivia's help.

Callum "Cal" Henshaw
(1978-current, age 45 in 2023) took over the Whisper Hollow Chronicle in 2000 at age 22. Determined, level-headed, interested in helping Oliva and Bea solve the unsolved cold case from 1901. He is smitten with Olivia.

Luna is always by Olivia's side- unless it doesn't suit her! She hates her sleep to be interrupted and discourages feedings that are not on her strict schedule.

(1889-1960, age 71) Amos Winslow, his grandson (now 87) calls into the hot line tip and says his grandpa, Old Joe, was there when there was an “accident” in the cove. Made a deathbed confession about what he saw that night

Trolley driver for Whisper Hollow
Gus Weatherby
(1947-current, age 76 in 2023) A former railway worker who retired, got bored, and now drives a trolley “for the hell of it.” Gruff but lovable, tells wild stories that may or may not be true, has a deep knowledge of local history. "Smokes" an old pipe (never lit). He claims to have seen Eleanor Grey’s ghost near the town square. Was friends with Olivia’s mother, Roxie. His best bud is , Lenny Dunmore- the train nut.

Doug Finch
(1971-current, age 52 in 2023) the Grey family estate lawyer, wants to keep his big salary at all costs to protect Grey matters. He is also the great-grandson of Henry Finch, who loved Eleanor, Douglas Finch, descendant of Henry Finch, Eleanor's fiancée in 1901, he is a bit shifty, not always trustworthy, motivated by his nice salary that the Grey estate continues to provide for him. He is doing the minimum he has to in order to keep collecting that handsome paycheck.

Dr. Evelyn “Evie” Harrow
(1978- current, age 45 in 2023) – The Scholar with Secrets. A well-respected historian, originally from a big university but moved back to Whisper Hollow years ago. Fascinated by the Eleanor Grey case, but doesn’t believe in ghosts—only in hard evidence. Keeps detailed archives, old maps, blueprints, and hidden records of the town. BT… her family has deep roots in Whisper Hollow, and she’s keeping certain information locked away. Worls at the WHHS, and Oliver trusts her to care for the Grey Mansion after he dies.

The Lanterns on the Cove
After her father's tragic death, Eleanor Grey began her mission of guiding ships safely to shore with the help of her lanterns. The hidden rocks in the cove were treacherous and very dangerous. She vowed never again would a ship go down at the harbor at Whisper Hollow. Some people claim to stll see her ghostly lanterns hovering over the murky waters.

The Royal Oak Ship
Captain Grey was at the helm of the Royal Oak until it tragically hit the hidden rocks in the cove in 1896. His body was reported to be lost at sea. His death left Eleanor and Harrison alone together at Whisper Hollow. Before the ship fell to the icy bottom of the sea, a heavy trunk was rescued and hauled to shore.

Sheriff Ernest Sampson
Sheriff Sampson tried to reopen the mysterious cases of Eleanor Grey and Finn Augustus, but he was denied funding. He was 36 years old when the Royal Oak sank, taking many secrets down with it. He retired in 1915 at age 55. Up until his death in 1935 at age 75 Sampson kept a log where he recorded his thoughts on old cases and unsolved mysteries that still haunted him.

in 1901, the two policemen went to the scene of Eleanor's fall and subsequent death. She was found on June 21, 1901 at the bottom of the service stairs at the Mariner's Inn. Although it was ruled an accident, many doubted the final report. The Inn fell into disrepair and financial problems after her death, and eventually went up for auction.

The Search for Tips
Olivia and Bea decide to run an article in the Whisper Hollow Chronicle, hoping to get some fresh leads about her strange death. Unfortunately, they get more than they bargained for! But Olivia becomes more determined than ever to discover the truth about the accident and hopefully put Eleanor's ghost to rest.

Olivia's Cottage behind the Mariner's Inn
Olivia’s Cottage is located behind the Mariner’s Inn and was built in 1895. Originally it was used as a Captain’s quarters for Captain William Grey prior to his untimely death in 1896. Other Captains would also stay in the cottage when visiting Whisper Hollow.

Relax once inside the Mariner's Inn and enjoy the warmth created by the stone fireplace. The stones were hand-picked off the cove in 1895 and the grand fireplace was built by a local mason. Most of the antique furniture has been maintained which adds to the quaintness of the Inn. Currently owned by Vivian Hawthorne who inherited the Inn from her father Benjamin in 1985.

The Mariner's Inn
Originally built in1895, the Inn was operated by Eleanor Grey until her untimely death in 1901. Financial troubles caused the inn to go to bank auction. In 1902, Benjamin Hawthorne purchased the Inn when he was just 26 years old. After his death in 1976 (at age 100!) his daughter Vivian officially inherited the building, although she had been operating the Inn for several decades.

The Whisper Hollow Chronicle newspaper was established in 1890 by Samuel Whitaker. Cal Henshaw runs the WHC in 2023. The structure has been remodeled but still maintains its original charm.

The Whisper Hollow Chronicle newspaper was established in 1890 by Samuel Whitaker who came to town to escape NYC when he was just 23 years old. Whitaker tried to be an advocate for Eleanor after her accident but some claim he got paid off to look the other way.

Grey Family Estate
This exquisite mansion was built on the outskirts of Whisper Hollow by Harrison Grey after both his father, Captain Grey (died 1896) and his sister Eleanor (died in 1901) were gone. The funding for its construction was also rumored to be stolen money- although most locals did not speculate on the source of Harrison's good fortune. Oliver Grey, the last living Grey, currently is a recluse within it's grand walls.

Inside the massive stone walls are the final resting place for all of the Grey decedents, except one- Eleanor. Why was she excluded from being confined to the crypt along with her family?

Left exactly like it was when she died in 1901. The bedroom is a time capsule into Eleanor's life. The elegant bed, antique desk, oak hardwood floors and cozy fireplace all were cherished by Eleanor. She owned and managed the Mariner's inn.

These elegant stairs have stood the test of time since the home was built in 1898 by Harrison and Agatha Grey. With their sudden wealth, they spared no expense in the construction of the home.

The Library & Reading room is always a favorite spot to sit by the fire and dive into a good book! The oil paintings portray the Grey family members. The velvet furniture, Persian rugs, crystal chandeliers and hand-carved mantle all reflect the quality craftsmanship and design choices of the Grey family.

Stroll down these elegant hallways while enjoying the hand-painted oil portraits of various Grey family members. Harrison and Agatha loved to spend money on lavish furnishings and exquisite pieces while Eleanor worked her fingers to the bone at the Mariner's Inn.

Harrison & Agatha Grey were big drinkers, and their wine cellar was always stocked full of aged Merlots, dry Champagnes, dark Rums and other favorites. Oliver Grey was not a drinker, so the wine cellar was severely neglected, just another room to store trapped memories.

Harrison & Agatha Grey loved fine horses! They each owned their own Thoroughbreds. Harrison's black gelding was named Regal and Agatha's Palamino mare was named Molly. They enjoyed riding together around their grand estate.

The Sinking of the Royal Oak in 1896
On April 29, 1896 Captain Grey was at the helm on the Royal Oak, carefully managing his vessel through the canals and waterways. As he neared Whisper Hollow, his ship accidentally struck hidden rocks in the cove and slowly sank into the murky waters below. Most of the crew was lost and the Captain was reported as "Lost At Sea".

Eleanor & her Lantern
After her father's demise, Eleanor made it her mission to help guide other ships safely to the shore of Whisper Hollow. Until the building of the lighthouse in 1920, her lanterns were the only available lights used to point ships in the right direction. Today, the locals celebrate her tradition with an Annual Lantern Lighting Festival!

Today, locals often see a mysterious, amber light hovering over the murky waters of the cove. Some claim it is the ghost of Captain Grey searching for his lost ship. Others believe it is the spirit of Eleanor still guiding ships safely to shore.

Captain Grey prided himself in his excellent maritime skills. He would pour over nautical maps for hours determining the best and safest routes. The long trip from Spain to Connecticut was hard on the crew. The welcoming coming home dinners cooked by Eleanor were always a treat to her father and his crew. So why did his ship perish during this particular trip?

The beautiful cobblestone streets throughout Whisper Hollow have stood the test of time. The historical buildings line the avenues, the warm, amber lights creating a magnificent glow. The persistent fog that hovers over the town, adds a mysterious and magical element to the small village.
