Managing the bell and timing its rings perfectly was an exhausting job. The church's bell weighed almost 500 pounds! Pulling each of the ropes to get the perfect rhythm took expertise and patience. Different rings were made to signal various occassions.

Sister Mercy Caldwell
(1890-?, age 22 in 1912) the nun who quickly left Whisper Hollow after Elias went missing. She was close friends with Elias Kincaid. Felix Ward had an obsession with Sister Caldwell. Although no signs of foul play were discovered, Sister Caldwell was never seen again.

Father Malcolm Dunne
(1878-1945, age 67) was the Priest in 1912 at age 34 when Elias went missing. Bound by the Sacramental Seal of the Catholic Church. He can provide many church services, including confessions.

(1964- current, age 59 ) He is the senior church official in Whisper Hollow. His carries a solemn expression, weary eyes- a man burdened by long-buried secrets.

Sister Evelyn Thorne
(1946-current, age 77) The last remaining nun at St. Augustine Church in Whisper Hollow. Her sharp, intelligent eyes and solemn expression hint at secrets she dares not speak. She’s been guarding something for far too long. She started being a nun there in 1970 at age 24, providing prayer and salvation for 53 years.

Tilly Lockwood
(1898 – 1987, age 89), age 14 when Elias went missing in 1912. She saw something the night Elias Kincaid vanished—but no one believed her. She told people she saw a second figure in the bell tower, but when she looked again… Elias was gone. She had her daughter Maggie in 1938 at age 40.

Olivia finds old pages of music and strange coded messages in the wood bench donated by the church. Are these secret messages between Sister Mercy and Elias Kincaid?

Felix Ward
(1866-1935, age 69) He was 46 when Elias went missing. He had a shady, untrustworthy side to him. He was secretly obsessed with Sister Mercy Caldwell.

Charlotte Ward
(1939-current, age 74 in 2023) Same age as Maggie Lockwood. She lived in Whisper Hollow her whole life. Her father Felix died the year she was born.

Dr. Everett Turner
(1877 - 1940) He treated both Elias Kincaid and Sister Caldwell in 1912. He kept meticulous records, but after his death in 1940, the town repurposed his clinic into the local Whisper Hollow Historical Society.

Walt Davenport
(1955-current, age 68 in 2023) Born and raised in Whisper Hollow, remembers stories firsthand from locals. Likes to bird watch. He has taken Olivia under his wing and enjoys helping her solve cold cases.

Dan Moretti
(1985 -current, age 38) Owns the Iron Oven, he is friends with Cal Henshaw (the editor of the Whisper Hollow Chronicle). Born in Brooklyn. Grew up in his family's pizzeria business with his father, Enzo. Dan Moretti is serving up slices and stealing hearts at the same time.

The Iron Oven Pizzeria was a former blacksmith shop before becoming a pizzeria. Old blacksmithing relics into the décor, forged iron tools still hang on the walls. The scent of wood-fired pizza is hard to resist! The Moretti’s hold Open Mic Nights and Olivia is trying her hand at poetry.

(1951- current, age 72 in 2023. Enzo is Dan’s Moretti’s father- The Iron Oven Pizzeria is a family-owned business. Enzo brought his families authentic recipes straight from Italy to Whisper Hollow. His mouth-watering pizzas offer comfort in every slice! You will often hear him singing Italian love ballads while making the days dough.

The Daily Grind
The quaint coffeehouse was remodeled in 2013 the year Margot bought it. Currently owned by Margot Devereaux. Its cozy atmosphere makes it a local favorite spot to relax and unwind. The Daily Grind is also the place to hear gossip and rumors!

Margot appeared in Whisper Hollow ten years ago, seemingly out of nowhere. She bought The Daily Grind Coffeehouse with cash, no mortgage, and no verifiable past. Despite never advertising, her coffeehouse is a town staple, a place where secrets are exchanged under the guise of casual conversation. Some say she’s an heiress on the run, others whisper that she knows too much about Whisper Hollow’s past. Her strange ring is a Black Sapphire (La Saphir Noir) and is extremely rare.

Deputy Miriam Calloway
Hates ghost stories but secretly keeps an old casebook on local legends. Has a massive dog named Hank, who never leaves her side. Drives an old, beaten-up police SUV, hates technology, and trusts her gut over “fancy investigative work”. Born and raised in Whisper Hollow,

Olivia's Cottage at the Mariner's Inn
Olivia’s Cottage is located behind the Mariner’s Inn and was built in 1895. Originally it was used as a Captain’s quarters for Captain William Grey prior to his untimely death in 1896. Eleanor Grey and other Captains would also stay in the cottage when visiting Whisper Hollow.

The church is one of the most beautiful buildings in Whisper Hollow. Built in 1910, it has stood the test of time. Locals love having potlucks and fundraisers in the parish hall. If the pews could talk the long-harbored secrets would rattle even the calmest nerves.

Bea Sinclair and Olvia Shaw love to uncover old details together over a cup of Earl Gray tea and scones. Bea purchased the bookstore in 1980 at age 24. She is curious by nature, town icon, trustworthy, and 100% honest,

The Bell Tower
Some locals feel the bell tower is haunted by the ghost of Elias Kincaid, who disappeared in 1912. Recently his restless spirit has been seen late at night, and the sound of the bell has been heard at midnight- even though the tower has been sealed off for decades!

The cathedral-style pipe organ
The organ bench was secretly used by Elias Kincaid and Sister Mercy Caldwell to pass coded messages. The organ features a rare Vox Humana stop, which, when pulled, produces a sound eerily similar to a human voice.

Creating these beautiful ships in bottles is a favorite past time foe Walt Davenport. He also loves birdwatching, hiking and tinkering with things.

The ghost of Finn Augustus
Finn Augustus was murdered in 1901 along with Eleanor Grey, his fiancée. (Book One: A Ghost's Calling). Now his spirit occasionally pops in to help Olivia with her cold case investigations.

The Confessional Booth
Someone is secretly recording people confessions! Who would be so devious and cruel? Anything revealed in the privacy of the confessional booth must remain a secret. The Sacramental Seal forbids priests from revealing anything heard during confession—ever—even under threat of death, law, or excommunication. So a killer could confess to murder and the priest could not go to the police.

A Rosary
Sister Mercy Caldwell always wore her beloved rosary. To use a rosary, begin at the crucifix with the Sign of the Cross and the Apostles’ Creed. Move bead by bead, praying an Our Father on each large bead and a Hail Mary on each small one. Meditate on one of the Mysteries of Christ’s life during each decade of prayers.

Conrad Bale
(1984-current) The Reluctant Inheritor of the Lantern Pub, age 39 in 2023. Moved back from Boston to settle his grandfather’s estate and inherited the pub. Educated, sarcastic, skeptical of the town’s legends but slowly becoming a believer. Always has a book behind the bar — and a glass of rye. Finds old letters behind a wall during renovations — written by someone with warnings.

The Lantern Pub
The local well-loved watering hole in Whisper Hollow. The place where everyone gathers to unwind from a long day, enjoy some music by local musicians and grab the best burgers in town.

Everyone loves the Pub where they serve signature drinks that revolve around local legends. Cocktails like the Widow's Whisper, The Felix Flame, Sister's Liquid Mercy and Captain Grey's Grog add a unique touch to the drink menu.
